About Us
The University of Cambridge Development Office was established in 1988 to support the University in its mission of contributing to society through the pursuit of education, learning and research at the highest international levels of excellence. The Development Office aims to involve Cambridge alumni, supporters and friends in this mission and its associated development programme.
CUDO raises philanthropic funding for the University and builds relationships with alumni, individuals, companies, charitable trusts and foundations. It acts as the operational arm of The Cambridge Foundation, the charity that fundraises on behalf of the University.
The Cambridge Alumni Relations Office (CARO) was launched in 2009 to help the University maintain relationships with 187,000 alumni. CARO’s remit is to educate, engage and support the alumni while at the same time facilitating and coordinating alumni relations on behalf of collegiate Cambridge.
CUDO and CARO work with the Colleges, Schools, Faculties and Departments, to coordinate the fundraising and alumni activities of the Cambridge 800th Anniversary Campaign, launched in September 2005.
